Mandatory Sports Meeting
A meeting will be held prior to the start of each season. The general purpose of these meetings will be to discuss school and athletic policies and requirements. Attendance at this meeting by the student athlete and at least 1 parent is mandatory.
Student Athlete Eligibility
To be eligible to participate, all forms must be turned in to the school office before the first practice. Participants must be a current RCS student (exception: homeschool students can participate in football, cross country, & wrestling). There is a fee for participation which must be paid before student may begin practice.
Athletes must be in good standing with behavior and academic requirements. Weekly grade checks will start one month into the semester. Students receiving an "F" in any subject will be ineligible to participate in games until the next grade check. A second ineligibility period may result in the student being ineligible for the remainder of the season.
Students must attend at least alf a day of school to participate in same day activities. Exceptions must be approved by the principal.
League Divisions
Upper and lower leagues for volleyball & basketball. Leagues are decided by coaches & AD. Teams can move up division for post-season play or move down for post-season play if winless during the regular season.
Competition
6th grade: instructional to semi-competitive (equal playing time)
7th grade: semi-competitive (75/25 split playing time)
8th grade: competitive (no restrictions on playing time)
Practices
Max of 2 hours in length per practice; 10 hours max per week
Floaters - Volleyball & Basketball only
Maximum allowed games played per player is determined by the sport. A player cannot float during post-season play.
Uniforms
Uniforms are issued after fees are paid. All uniforms must be returned, washed and in a bag with the student's name, after the season is over. A fee will be assessed if a uniform is not returned.
