The parish Pastoral Council is responsible for working with the pastor in carrying out the mission of the parish. The Pastoral Council is a consultative body, presided over by the Pastor, and works together by the principle of consensus, while allowing for the discretion of the pastor. The parish Pastoral Council consists of the following: Pastor, Chairperson, and members. Pastoral council members serve a three-year term. Any parishioner practicing good stewardship is eligible to be a Pastoral Council member. Open to anyone in the parish who would like to invest their time and talent in our parish school. A background in education is helpful, but not necessary. The council advises the pastor and principal on policy issues, planning, budgeting, and helping to insure a solid Catholic identity and clear and accurate communications. Parents may request to be on the open forum section of the agenda. Please refer to the bylaws. “Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God’s gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor.” The Stewardship Council’s focus is to educate and support active stewardship within our parish. This is done by helping parishioners recognize their gifts of time, talent and treasure while promoting opportunities for the use of these gifts within our parish, school, and the community. Responsibilities include: supporting ministry leaders in their leadership roles, updating the Parish Stewardship and Member Directory, and overseeing the Stewardship Renewal process each year. The mission of the Parish Finance Council is to promote stewardship as a way of life, to insure that parish resources are used in accordance with the principles of stewardship, and to secure the financial stability of the parish for future generations. People who practice good stewardship are needed to show interest in serving on the Finance Council. This small group is responsible for allocation of parish funds and for budgets. It meets regularly and for special meetings as necessary. Finance Council members serve a three-year term.
