Church of the Resurrection is a parish that is alive and well - our liturgies are spiritually rich and nourishing, there are a plethora of ministries and stewardship opportunities to be involved in, and our school is a place of spiritual, academic, and human growth and formation. Stewardship of Treasure
Stewardship, which begins with the gift of my time in an active and alive relationship with God, causes a natural generosity to arise in our hearts. Why? Because God is a lavish giver, and stewardship is the way of responding to this lavish gift. "Stewardship of Treasure" is a tangible symbol or sign of the gift of myself to God! Fr. John Lanzrath once reflected that, “The giving of money is, in fact, a giving of ourselves representing the gift of our labor, our heart, and our life!” What we put in the basket, what is symbolized in the offertory with the bread and the wine, is the gift of our very selves! The collection at Mass is primarily about giving of oneself; only secondarily is it about pragmatic or financial concerns.
And so, as your pastor, I humbly say "Thank you!" to each and everyone of you who generously and lavishly offer the gift of your treasure to God and to our parish family! -FL
